The Challenge

A technical services company in Dubai needed DM and DCD approval for its project, quoted in LML/QTN/1084 and delivered through the consultant and the main contractor. The quotation is split into two phases: the first covers collecting the documents and as-built drawings, confirming the client design approval and obtaining DM design approval through the consultant; the second assigns the main contractor for the work permit, obtains the DM work permit and the DCD design approval, runs the pre-inspection that releases the consultant NOC, and closes with the DM and DCD final inspection that releases the completion certificates. Because the work permit and the contractor assignment sit between the design and the final approval, each step has to clear before the next can start.

The quotation's limiting conditions define where the fee stays final: the client supplies the existing drawings, documents and green files; exceptional approval requirements, a design revision or a failed inspection each carry an additional charge; and VAT is separate. Confirming those inputs at the start is what protects the quoted AED 42,000 fee.
